Welcome to the Indonesia–Japan Judicial Training Program on Dispute Resolution.
This training provides an opportunity to explore how the Japanese justice system approaches dispute resolution through settlement, mediation, and effective judicial case management.
The program introduces participants to Japan’s settlement and mediation systems, including the techniques and theory of mediation, as well as facilitative and evaluative approaches.
Participants also learn about preparatory proceedings, the arrangement of issues and evidence, and the role of judges in settlement and judgment.
Through lectures, discussions, mock preparatory proceedings, and direct observation of judicial institutions, the training connects legal theory with practical judicial experience.
More importantly, this program creates a space for Indonesian and Japanese judicial professionals to exchange knowledge and reflect on how effective dispute resolution can contribute to better justice.
From Japan to Indonesia, the journey is not simply about learning another system.
It is about observing, understanding, comparing, and identifying practices that may inspire the continuous improvement of judicial dispute resolution.
